About Sammy Roan Artist/Musician

Sammy Roan was living with depression and heartache when he had an epiphany—a holy **** of an idea. He realized he didn't have to be miserable in small-town Illinois; he could be miserable sitting on the beach!

So, he tossed his guitars, computer, and faithful cat Milton into the car. By 3 a.m., he turned onto Illinois I-70 West and drove as far west as he could go without drowning, then took a right. He headed north up the Pacific Coast Highway to Monterey, California.

While most artists in the area painted landscapes and still lifes of fruit, Sammy found himself at local art fairs, selling his deck carvings and making a name for himself in the underground art scene of the Bay Area. He displayed his art in coffee shops and offbeat galleries, gaining recognition for his unique style.

Currently, Sammy continues to carve decks, write, and perform with alt-country artist Matt Poss. He is also writing, recording, and promoting his latest record, "Dial 'S' For Smokin'," while always on the lookout for his next HOLY **** idea.
